Principles of MLA Microlens Arrays

A microlens array (MLA) is essentially a set of precision manufactured microlenses, known as “microlenses”, arranged in an orderly fashion. Such arrays are customized modules that can flexibly adjust the parameters and layout of the microlenses according to different application scenarios and functional requirements. Taking a typical MLA as an example, its size is usually 11.4mm×10.7mm×3.0mm. With such a delicate size design, many microlenses are integrated in a limited space, which lays the foundation for realizing unique optical effects, especially in the application fields of automotive flat headlights and other applications with stringent requirements on space layout, showing significant advantages.
